Women’s Ministry

Our mission is to inform and inspire Christian women to influence their world for Christ.

Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said; “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me” (Matthew 16:24).

  • Inform and Inspire
    • The first Wednesday each month we meet at 10:30 am to study about mission work around the world. Then we apply what we have learned through local mission outreach including visiting shut-ins.
  • Sharing the love of Christ in Winston-Salem
    • We are collecting food (non-perishables) during the month of June for the Bread of Life Food Pantry as part of the missions for the Pilot Mountain Baptist Association.
    • We are participating in the Fair Ministry September 30 – October 3.  We will provide hygiene kits (soap, wash cloth, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, comb, white socks, razor) in a zip-lock bag.  We will also need cases of bottled water for the fair workers as they work to put the rides together.  It’s a hot job!
  • Sharing the love of Christ in North Carolina
    • We are collecting non-perishable food and paper products for the Annual Food Drive for the Baptist Children’s Homes of NC.  The items will be collected the 4th Sunday of April to be distributed.  Example of items to be collected in addition to non-perishable food are paper plates, cups, napkins, paper towels, cleaning supplies, hygiene items (soap, shampoo, toothpaste).
    • We are participating in the Prison Ministry at the Cherry Street Prison December 19th. We are putting together person hygiene kits together and put in plastic bags (toothbrush, small sizes of toothpaste and shampoo, deodorant, soap, washcloth, notepads, or cards, pair of white socks).
  • Sharing the love of Christ beyond North Carolina
    • The Women’s Ministry is going to be helping with the Appalachian Christmas Outreach by providing backpacks for children.  These will be due Saturday October  27th when they will be delivered.  The over-all goal for 2019 is 16,000 backpacks. The contents of the new, zippered backpacks include:
      • New clothing items (socks, hats, gloves, underwear, T-shirt)
      • Small pop-top canned goods such as ravioli, fruit as long as it has a pop-top.
      • Full size hygiene items (toothpaste, soap, shampoo, wash cloth, comb/brush) to fit in a gallon zip-lock bag.
      • School supplies (paper, pencils)
      • Bible (age appropriate, age groups 4-7, 8-10, 11-15)
      • Copy of “The Christmas Story”
      • And you can also include some candy, just no chocolate.
    • As a church, we participate in the Samaritan Ministry Operation Christmas Chile Shoeboxes.  Collect items year round (small T-shirts, coloring book, crayons, paper, tooth brushes, but no toothpaste, small toys, anything that a child would enjoy.  We’ll have a packing party on October 27th at 6:00.  We did over 100 shoeboxes in 2018, let’s aim higher for 2019.

Other activities/reminders scheduled throughout the year include:

  • April is the month for the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for the North American Missions.
  • Mark your calendar for the Baptist Women’s World Day of Prayer, November 5th at 7:00PM at Clemmons First Baptist.  Women from around the world will gather to pray for each other.
  • We’ll kick off the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering on November 24th which is for the International Missions.

Mark your calendars!!
