Church on Mission

Each year, Griffith Baptist Church participates in several mission projects including Samaritan Purse Shoe Box Ministry, Carolina Classic Fair Ministry, and the Baptist Toy Store. Boxes are available to drop off your donated items in the hallway between adult small group classrooms at all times.

Please mark your calendars for these events and consider donating your time or supplies:

  • Prison Ministry: We are organizing care kits for the people in Forsyth Jail. The items needed for this ministry are as follows: shampoo (trial size), soap, washcloths, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, white socks, and note cards. Please place all of these items into a ziplock plastic bag.  The prison party is December 19, 2019.
  • Baptist Toy Store Collection Each family is asked to bring a toy that your child or a grandchild would like, priced between $10 – $30 for ages birth to 14 years.  The toys will be taken to Clemmons First Baptist Church prior to December 7 where families will be able to select toys for their children that normally would not be able to provide Christmas gifts.
  • Girls in Action (GAs) The GAs actively meet Wednesday evening during Prayer/Bible Study.  If you can help, please see Janet Huff.
  • As a church, we participate in the Samaritan Ministry Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes.  Collect items year round (small T-shirts, coloring book, crayons, paper, tooth brushes, but no toothpaste, small toys, anything that a child would enjoy.  We’ll have a packing party on October 27th at 6:00.  We did over 100 shoeboxes in 2018, let’s aim higher for 2019.

Other activities/reminders scheduled throughout the year include:

  • April is the month for the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for the North American Missions.
  • Mark your calendar for the Baptist Women’s World Day of Prayer, November 5th at 7:00PM at Clemmons First Baptist.  Women from around the world will gather to pray for each other.
  • We’ll kick off the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering on November 24th which is for the International Missions.
